Abstract

This study appraises the court case management system with a case study of the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lira District. Utilizing questionnaires and interviews, the research aimed at enhancing the electronic storage and retrieval of data to expedite the execution of rulings. Key objectives included improving data storage and retrieval processes, easing data backup, maintaining data integrity, and eliminating court malpractices such as corruption and intimidation.


Findings reveal the importance of user requirements and non-functional requirements, including performance and security. The study underscores the necessity for internet connectivity for system efficiency and highlights the system’s capability in ensuring secure, encrypted storage of user passwords, and maintaining client information confidentiality.


Conclusively, the development of the project facilitated the acquisition and strengthening of skills in various technologies including HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, Bootstrap, PHP, and MYSQL. Testing confirmed the software's functionalities met the expected outcomes, demonstrating potential enhancements in the efficiency and security of court case management.
